Should kittie litter boxs be moved around occasionally to satisfy a natural instinct?

Doesn't it make a little sense that occasionally cats will - even slightly- change where they do their business so as not to keep pooping on top of poop?

My cat is 15 weeks old and when we first brought him home he was perfectly trained, unfortunatly the last few days his ability to find the box in the early morn has been off by about half a meter. Whats going on?Should kittie litter boxs be moved around occasionally to satisfy a natural instinct?
No you shouldn't move their litter boxes. Cats are creatures of habit, and when your disrupt their habit, they will become annoyed. Moving their litter box often results in them refusing to use it.Should kittie litter boxs be moved around occasionally to satisfy a natural instinct?
When I first got my cat the first thing the vet said to do is find a place for the litter box, make sure she knows its there, and leave it. You should never move a litter box just because. You'll confuse your cat, and oftentimes, if a cat has done it's duty in a certain place for a long period of time, it will still go back there even without a litter box. You can move it, if you have to, but it's not something vets suggest doing. If however you do need to move it, make sure she knows where its at. Show her every chance you get. Hope this helps =)
No need to move it. If you begin to play ';hide the litter box'; then your resourceful cat will just find substitute areas to use - like your closet, or in a corner, or on your clothes.

Maybe your cat isn't using it's box because it's not clean enough for his standards. Be sure that you regularly scoop and change the litter when needed. What are is naturally discriminating about where they do their business.

But if it persists, consider taking your cat to the vet to rule out any medical issues, i.e. urinary tract infections.
Usually you do not want to move litter boxes. Cats are creatures of habit and will most likely get upset and be more proned to accidents when you move a litter box or even change the type of litter.

I would suggest maybe adding an additional litter box to your house and making sure they are cleaned frequently. Cats are picky and some will not go in when a box is too dirty.
it may be because you arent cleaning the litter box regularly so the kitten might not like it because its too dirty so you should clean up straight after it does its business, if thats not the case then you might be putting the ltter box in a place where the kitten cant see it so it has to be in a place that the cat can recognise and see it and a fairly comfortable place too like close to its bed etc also you should take it to the litter box after it eats to help it understand you want it do have a poop in the litterbox and not anywhere else
Leave the litter box right where it is otherwise you might confuse him however you could try to move it to the spot where he goes potty at because him missing it.
Nope , you need to keep teaching it that the litter box is HERE and not there.
No. Cats are creatures of habit.

They don't like things being moved around, like their litter box, food dishes etc.
