It is not an instinct. It is a reflex, then learned. Surprise a baby and it will cry. It is a reflex it has. Fear is learned such as of heights, darkness, dying.
We fear what we do not know. For all the faiths in the world, there is always a fear that we might be wrong. Still, I have known two people who said, stop. I do not wish to fight any more. Why is it natural instinct to protect yourself from harm?
The body doesnt fail through choice - either conscious or subconcious - the body fails through attack via illness/injury or the uncontrollable effect of ageing. Throughout your life you try to seek ways to postpone all of these things, right to the bitter end.
that's one scary thing about life
It is not so much selfish interest, but inherent SPECIES preservation that drives it. GOD said ';Go forth and multiply'; in His very first commandment. It is part of each member of ALL species to try to procreate more of itself, and so ensure survival of its own kind.
Think of the salmon runs, for example, or the mayfly, whose only drive is to mate, then die.
thats is life? life sometimes , or in a lifetime, take away a moments occur
to outlive everyone.
Easy it wants to survive. Its programmed into us from cave men years. We know we're going to die but we also want to live as long as we possibly can even if we're not scared of death we want to keep living.
It has to do with wanting to survive, I guess. I know it seems pointless to some people, but I keep hanging around one more day in case something really cool happens, like aliens landing in my yard, or Elvis coming out of hiding. I'd be sorry I missed that.
Life of all sorts strives to live . It's natural .
