Do human beings have a natural instinct to mate with the opposite sex? ?

Can someone explain to me why this question would be more of an interest to a psychologist rather than a sociologist. ThanksDo human beings have a natural instinct to mate with the opposite sex? ?
Who one chooses to ';mate with'; is a genetic trait. Not everyone is attracted to opposite sex partners.





If the psychologist was a ';Christian';, it would interest them more as they would tend to believe that homosexual attraction is a mental thing (choice) rather than a genetic thing (instinct).Do human beings have a natural instinct to mate with the opposite sex? ?
Of course we do. The urges are implanted at conception whether we want them or not.





It's the method used by the Creator to ensure the species continues, as with just about all creatures.





These urges are mental, not physical, therefore they would be of more interest to a psychologist.





The sociologist is more interested in the resultant numbers, not the cause behind them.
Psychology deals with why individuals behave as they do, sociology deals with the effects of that behavior on society as a whole.


As to human mating instincts, those vary among individuals just as they do with any other species, homosexual activity can be observed in hundreds of different species world wide.

anyway, a psychologist would be more interested because he is able to tell wat makes this to happen in humans.
There are chemicals in the female brain that reacts when she sees a man that she loves, so I guess that's why it's psychology. And I guess that would make it an instinct.


However, these chemicals have also been found in gay men.
Most do. However there are and always have been exceptions.


sexual preference is inborn and not a learned trait. That would make it fall under psychology rather than sociology.
