Do humans have a natural sexual instinct?

I'm not looking to stir up and religious, ethical, cultural (etc) debates. I'm merely asking, scientifically, do humans generally have a natural instinct to want to have sex.Do humans have a natural sexual instinct?
From an oversimplified evolutionary and scientific standpoint, yes, humans most definitely do. Why else would sex exist besides natural instinct? What other incentive would humans really have to engage in intercourse? Although we have methods of birth control now, it is hardwired into our very genetic makeup to copulate for the sole purpose of reproduction. Without any sex drive, our genes would not be passed down to future generations, and there would *be* no humans. The main purpose of our existence is to pass down favorable genes to our offspring in the next generation. Think about it this way: if genes 'want' to be passed down then they must code for characteristics which most definitely allows them to be passed down. Our strong and inherent natural instinct to reproduce results from genes quite literally doing whatever they can to 'stay alive'. And yes, it is the genes which compete for survival. That's why we're here.

Matt Ridley is an amazing (and funny) author who discusses sex and genes and humans instincts and such. Specifically, check out Red Queen by him if this is something that really interests you.Do humans have a natural sexual instinct?
I could say YES indeed. We humans have the knack of knowing things as they come along. Remember the light bulb. It has no blue print or any pattern whatsoever from Thomas Alva Edison, he just thought about it and make the pattern and the things he need and the rest is history. Now comes to sexual instinct, I guess that is also true in humans and of course with chimpanzee. As said by no other than Charles Darwin, we came from animals. Yes we are technically speaking concerning science not religiously or any other subject to begin with. Even Tarzan if ever he existed would agree on these subject that sex doesn't have to be taught but it comes naturally with every man or woman.

Take my case for example, I am a virgin when I met my girl friend, these was long time ago. Since I am physically attractive to her, and when we sleep together, I do not need to know what to know about sex it comes naturally where and when and how etc.. Even I was surprise with myself because I never been to a woman before, just pictures and video sort of that things but when it comes to the actual thing I guess we humans have that so called instinct. Even survival instinct we have I guess, for example you fall from a deep water falls you have the natural instinct to survive and never give up to live our life.
Freud has been widely dicredited.

The fact is yes we have sex drives, we have a natural need to procreate, to preserve our genetic line. In the same way as we would beat on a sibling, defend them if someone else was threatening them, but would not die instead of them, we are making sure our genetic material continues. Its all evolutionary.
yes. This is what hormones and phermones are all about.

Nature: Humans ARE animals. Not ';kind of';. We are:

Domain: Eukaryota

Kingdom: Animalia

Subkingdom: Eumetazoa

Phylum: Chordata

Subphylum: Vertebrata

Class: Mammalia

Subclass: Theria

Order: Primates

Superfamily: Hominoidea

Family: Hominidae

Subfamily: Homininae

Tribe: Hominini

Subtribe: Hominina

Genus: Homo

Species: H. sapiens

Subspecies: H. s. sapiens

Any questions? That is just the silliest thing I have seen in a while. Not you asker, just saying that we are ';kind of'; animals. Lol!
