Is there any way to ';break'; a weimaraner of the natural hunting instinct?

She'll go for hours if she thinks she's ';onto something';Is there any way to ';break'; a weimaraner of the natural hunting instinct?
All animals will keep their natural unstincts all their life. But if you let her go on for hours then she will just continue to do it. But if you try to teach her to stop then she may do it for a while but then grow tired of it or learn that she won't catch anything. I have had a lot of dogs over the years and none of them ever had the problem for long and were/are perfectly happy. A lot of a dog's behavior is based on how they are raised. Is there any way to ';break'; a weimaraner of the natural hunting instinct?
Dogs were bred for specific tasks, It is genetically programed. You can not break her.
no the breed is meant to hunt mine killed the Chihuahua next door out of instinct.Thees are great dogs but not good with small animals
No, if you break his instinct he won't be happy
No. You can't break instinctive behavior. You can control it somewhat by training, but the instinct will always be there right under the surface. This is why it's so important to get a breed that has traits that you can live with - not just because you think it looks ';cool';.
