Is cheating part of our natural human instinct?

I have thought long and hard about this.





I believe this issue may be caused by the mind. Can it be that cheating is just another way for humans to create shortcuts, detours for themselves; that said, is it similar to how we made use of tools from the very beginning of our existence?





Again, this question is directed to a philosophical point of view...I am merely stating a possibility.Is cheating part of our natural human instinct?
Cheating is what humans do when they think they can get away with it.

Yes, cheating is a natural instinct. To be more precise, survival is a natural instinct. Cheating is a way of getting something withouyt expending valuable resources.





Our species has entered into a social contract precisely because the natural human instinct is to survive by any means necessary. The social contract (Thomas Hobbes) is an agreement a society buys in to for the sake of a peaceful life. Without it we would all be raping and killing and stealing for ourselves and our families. Criminals are not willing to follow the social contract and thus are punished. Wartorn societies have no social contract.
you can certainly look at it that way. thn again, you have to look at the context of cheating and the situation you are applying it to. Cheat on a math test by looking at someone elses paper becuse you didnt feel like studying last night would be an example. that is being lazy. technology is suppose to support us. supplemment things for us. not give us free access to things we should already know. like answers to math questions. i dont know how to explain it
I think cheating is a way for man to please himself.you know,the right way is hard and long but cheating makes it short and easy.I don't think cheating itself is part of instinct but a way for man to reach his wants.(actually not the right way.)

Then morality is imposed on what might be termed original sin or the tendency for instinct to place self over the good of all.
I wonder if the animal kingdom live by the same crazy laws that us humans do?
